Some elements in foods can increase the risk of kidney stone formation. For example, oxalate, especially as found in spinach, rhubarb, beet greens, nuts, chocolate, tea, bran almonds, peanuts, and strawberries, and these foods can significantly increase urinary oxalate levels which in turn can lead to kidney stones.
